2042 Cafe & Deli, Newtown
When Mr C told me we were going to go Newtown for lunch, I honestly didn’t want to go. I always thought it was a bit dangerous and dodgy because I’ve never been there. But since I’m typing this, that obviously it means I enjoyed 2042 Cafe & Deli and Newtown.
Look at the goodness of the chocolate (above) @@ The chocolate was perfect for me, not too sweet, just love it ! I was tempted to just take a bite of the chocolate but then my drink won’t be hot chocolate anymore. This was definitely worth the price, it was really creamy and foamy ! My cup of tea (hot chocolate).
This was my first eggs benedict. Mr C had been talking about it for a while after he had his free breakfast food from work and told me I’ll probably like it – he was right, I LOVE IT ! It has my favorite poached eggs, and bacon, and some toast bread (I like bread), so this was a perfect meal for me !!! It was amazing how good the cherry tomatoes and salad were as well. I didn’t want to cut the pretty egg because it looked so delicate, and then Mr C killed it because he knew I was never going to do it
All that beautiful yolk oozing out from the white…. looks so delicious.
LOL had to take a photo because the egg really resembled Casper the ghost !! Sorry random
This was Mr C’s meal – I’ve never been a fan of scrambled eggs because I can cook it at home for him…but I don’t think I can get the taste and flavors from the above !! The eggs tasted like it was marinated before and the sausages were really something mmmm… I also loved how the scrambled eggs had a bit of sauce (WHATEVER IT IS) so when you take a bite, it doesn’t taste too dry/dull, you’ve still got the flavors in your mouth XD And did I mention how good it tastes with the toasted bread?
This wasn’t part of the cafe, but an ice cream store near the station. I’ve always been a huge fan of sorbet, ever since I had the pear sorbet in Melbourne, Mr C knows that fact well. We were casually exploring a new town when Mr C saw the words ‘Sorbet’ on the sign. And obviously we walked in and saw SO MANY DIFFERENT SORBET FLAVORS !!!!!
We didn’t want to be rude, so we only had two sample tries – green tea and watermelon. The watermelon was really really yummy as well !!! Argh, wish I owned the store =o= The sorbet were also home-made as well !!!
Oh and the dishes at 2042 Cafe & Deli are about $10-20 per person, forgot to mention because I’m so excited right now!
UPDATE: We went back there a second time and tried out some new dishes and they didn’t disappoint! I especially loved the Wagyu Sandwich which was interesting especially with the Sauerkraut and swiss cheese, not something I’ve seen offered anywhere else.
A pair of food lovers, always capturing their food moments.
