Bassim, Strathfield
It’s been about 2 years since Mr C and I last came to Bassim. We decided to visit the restaurant again as we wanted to try the traditional way of KBBQ (charcoal on a wire grill) and probably the best KBBQ in Strathfield, the only reason we don’t come here regularly is because of the price and walking distance which is a bit out of the way compared to most of the other restaurants such as Doori.
This was a must have as I always seem to love this type of pork compared to others. With the traditional KBBQ of cooking this, the pork turned out to be really flavorsome, smoky and delicious! I just loved it so much, I honestly really loved the crispiness of it. Mr C and I forgot to pull the above exhaust pipe, so we had a mini smoke signal when the oil began dripping down
This dish was the main reason we were here. Mr C heard the chilli chicken here was the best, and indeed it was! It was full of flavour especially the chilli, Mr C teared up a little
. Don’t under estimate how little the servings look, the chicken fillet is actually folded, so one piece is really a large piece! So worth the price! I don’t think I’ve had a better chilli chicken in Sydney aside from Madang.
If you ask me, I would definitely visit Bassim to eat the yummy pork belly again! Mr C and I also agreed to try the beef next time, as we saw many people who ordered the beef and it seemed really mouthwatering. Next time we visit (possibly early next year) we will be sure to order some beef ribs or marinated beef to give that a go.
A pair of food lovers, always capturing their food moments.
